Portland OR, about an hour from world class surf, epic snowboarding, and home to more skate parks than any other city in the US is seeking to secure their spot as the Extreme Sports Capitol of the World.
A few dudes with big ideas are looking to turn the Rose Garden and Memorial Colosseum into a giant Extreme Sports shyte-show.

There's a dozen other proposals and every article I have read, this one gets no mention among the indoor dog park, shopping plaza, mega climbing facility, and the sickest and allot more suited for a velodrome. Pipe dream literally.
Oh and for you snowbro's there's even an indoor ski bowl, seperate from the extreme wank park, so you can get jiggey w/ it all year long.

even if it is a good idea a big, visible project like this is akin to whacking a bees nest. the bees in this case are eco-freaks and they are always pissed.
