Surf Report for iPhone

If you have an iPhone and surf…you’ve probably been looking for a surfing forecast application.

Aside from nwBroweather of course, there’s not much out there.  There’s one app called Greenroom which looks pretty good but it’s limited to SoCal and costs $2.99.  A few other dudes are selling an app that displays a swell graphic from the navy that’s freely available on the net–and selling them for $3.99.

The only app worth a sht that i’ve seen is called Surf Report made by Oakley and Surfline.  The interface is pretty intuitive and easily navigable.  You can set up favorite spots from a pre determined list.  Washington has Long Beach, Westport, and La Push–only.

The interface provides current weather, wave height, direction, period, water temp, wind speed, wind direction, and secondary swell info.  There is a forecast link but i’ve never seen it work for any of the WA spots.

The idea is promising but i think this attempt falls short of being very useful.  Im sure someone will come out with something that works well.
